Sand Volleyball
Many people do not realize that USA Volleyball is the National Governing Body for the sport of beach volleyball in the United States. USA Volleyball runs and manages the USA Beach National Volleyball Teams, the USA Beach Olympic Teams, and also USA Youth and Junior Beach National Teams for each gender.NCVA, in an effort to bring sand volleyball to our region, organizes a sand volleyball league for men, women, girls and boys. The NCVA hopes that this will broaden the interest in the game of sand volleyball.
The USAV and NCVA sand programs work to advance sand volleyball talent and build a broader and stronger pipeline of athletes and coaches for our U.S. Olympic Teams. The USAV and NCVA Sand Programs are the "pipeline" for young beach volleyball athletes who aspire to reach the elite level of their sport and who dream of representing the United States on the Beach National Volleyball Team.
The NCVA Junior Sand Division offers opportunities to accumulate points during the regular sand season for both junior boy’s and girl’s based on tournament results. These points will be used to seed teams into the season ending NCVA Junior Sand Tour Championships being held in Santa Cruz in August of 2010. In addition USA Volleyball will be selecting several of our tour events (points received) to count toward their season ending championships to be held in August (Dates and Location in the Bay Area TBA).
The Junior Sand Division is for ages 21 & under.

Grass Volleyball
The NCVA Grass Division gives members more opportunities to play volleyball. Grass volleyball is great during the summer months when you want to get outside and play (rather than being in a gym) but you may not be close to the beach or just do not want to deal with the elements that come with sand volleyball. Grass volleyball is a great opportunity to play with your friends in a local outdoor tournament. The NCVA Grass Division offers opportunities to accumulate points during the regular grass season based on tournament results. These points will be used to seed teams into the season ending NCVA Junior & Adult Grass Championships.
